ESSENTIAL QUESTIONS:
1. If you were to define St. Joe's using pictures only, what would it look like?
* What is the purpose of school?
it would be bright and friendly, it would be calm and busy, it would be free and constricting. there are rules and there are choices. we have music and band groups, sports groups, smart groups. some people think that school has one soul purpose to educate. but i think that its purpose is to create smart, creative successful people through education, support and freedom.
2. What makes a St. Joe's student different from a student from another school?
* What supports your success in school?
* What things get in the way of your success in school?
St. Joe's is different from the other schools because we are Catholic and we celebrate our religion. We also are very strong in our sports and arts programs. We are known for our good teachers and amazing students. We our known for our efforts and our strong will to keep going, to keep trying to be our best and our strongest. We have amazing councilors for support when students are struggling. We have great teachers that spend their time trying to help us learn and understand. We are being prepared for our lives. But St. Joe's also has lots of drop outs and ditcher's. People who don't cherish the opportunities they are given and people who negatively influence others through their use of drugs and alcohol. But if we can ignore them and go on with our lives our experience stays the same.
3. What does it mean to celebrate learning? (DO NOT limit your answer to 'book' learning)?
Celebrating learning means embracing your knowledge and being willing to learn more and be ready for a better life. It means that we love our school and everything they do for us so we can learn and have a better life. It means loving your school even though its not perfect and using your abilities to make it better. It means being ready to help others learn and to learn yourself. Being willing and happy to learn.
